3D01-DPU-0013 Forced Unbinding & Re-binding Tutorial

This guide explains how to bypass the "Unauthorized" message and force a reset so you can bind the controller to your own device. Youtube reference video included at the end.

Preparation

  • Ensure your smartphone has the controller's management app installed.
  • Turn on the vehicle's power.
  • Locate the Motor Hall Sensor connector (the small white plastic plug with multiple thin wires) connected to the controller.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Scan and Connect

Open the app and scan for Bluetooth devices. Select your controller and click Connect. If the device is already bound to another account, an "Unauthorized" pop-up will appear showing the previous owner’s ID. Do not close this pop-up.

Step 2: Trigger the Reset Mode (The Brake Method)

While the "Unauthorized" window is still active on your phone screen:

Squeeze and release the brake lever rapidly 20 times. * Alternative: If the brake method doesn't work, toggle the speed/gear switch (High/Low) 20 times.

This action signals the controller to enter a factory override/unbinding mode.

Step 3: Initiate Force Unbind

Once you have finished the 20 brake pulses, a new "Force Unbinding" progress circle should appear on the phone screen.

Step 4: Hardware Verification (The Hall Sensor Loop)

To verify physical access to the vehicle and complete the process:

Unplug the Motor Hall Sensor connector.

Plug it back in.

Unplug and plug it back in again if necessary.

Observe the progress bar on your phone. Each time you cycle the Hall sensor connection, the progress percentage should increase (e.g., jumping from 0% to 48%, then to 100%).

Step 5: Completion and Re-binding

Once the progress bar reaches 100%, the app will display "Unbinding Successful."

Click Confirm, then click the Bind button on the main interface.

The app should now show "Binding Successful," and you will have full control over the controller settings.

Important Notes

Safety First: Perform this while the vehicle is on a kickstand or center stand to ensure the wheel does not spin unexpectedly.

System Variations: Different firmware versions might require more or fewer brake pulses, but 20 is the standard for most Yuanqu models(Fardriver).
